Description/Notes:
Large numbers of painted lady butterflys (in the 1000's) have been migrating through La Jolla (92121 where I am), CA since early this morning (3-31-05) This is not a april fool joke, I'm sure it will be in the local news (San Diego) They appear at this location to be headed north-northeast. They are stopping to feed on california poppies, and other flowering bushes. It is normal to see a few of these all year long here, esp. in the hills inland. I have never seen so many at once. They were so thick at noon that when I stood by flowering bushes, they were landing on me and running into me. I got out of their way to the food.
