Description/Notes:
Wellsburg, West Virginia. Location precision: estimated within a 3 km radius. Observed by Heather Tokas, Red Admiral and Painted Lady Butterfly Group, Facebook. Woohoo!!! April 13th saw first Red Admiral of the season. SHE was laying eggs on my nettles which were only popped up about 2 inches! I collected 7 eggs. I also captured her and she has been laying eggs in captivity on my potted nettles. Then on the 15th I saw another sipping moisture on my side walk. So spring is here. Just waiting on the locust tree to bloom. They of course bloom after any more and NOT BEFORE spring's threat of frost.
