Description/Notes:
Large number of red admirals, mostly on two pussy willow bushes, but also on a butterfly feeder with overripe bananas. Twenty is an estimate, because they were very quick and hard to count; we often saw a dozen at once. They were around all day on April 23 and 24. A couple of them also nectared on Scilla siberica, where the American Ladies were nectaring. The red admirals chased each other, basked on a white stucco wall, and sometimes chased the American ladies.
