Description/Notes:
I sat here for 2 hours and saw 68 painted ladies fly by, with about 6 out of 7 going north. I was in a 30 m diameter patch of flowering dandelions, and about 1 out of 8 stopped briefly at dandelions, before moving on. In the last week, i have visited about 8 different parks or gardens for 1-3 hours each and I am seeing painted ladies at least 3 or 4 times and hour. When I see them, they are in pulses of 3 -8 butterflies in a 10 minute interval, rarely traveling together though. Then a lull for ao -20 minutes then more. I am seeing them most commonly between about 11 am and 1 pm, but occasionally see them as late as 6 pm.
