Description/Notes:
Point Pelee National Park, Wheatley, Ontario, Canada. Location precision: estimated within a 4.5 km radius. Observed by Steve Pike. "At Point Pelee Monarch numbers were building throughout the day and at North West Beach I noticed approx 100 a minute flying south around 5pm and by the time I reached the tip Darlene A. Burgess estimated between 4-5000 roosting in Hackberry Trees at the extreme tip. "Besides excellent numbers of Monarchs I counted 640 Painted Lady’s (and only 1 American Lady!) which is likely a new one day Point Pelee record. Ten’s of them were flying off the trails in front of me at a time which was quite a spectacle!"
