Description/Notes:
On THU, 9/2/21, watched Red Admiral from 2:55-3:10 pm (pacific time). First one we'd ever noticed. Our yard is planted for various pollinators and includes some purple deadnettle (Lamium purpureum) and a small cluster of purple coneflower (Echinacea purpurea). The Red Admiral was "puddling" in our garden near some cosmos, basil, and ferns; then flew WNW several yards to feed on the echinacea before flying away NE (past where they were "puddling" before". The weather was 69°F, clear skies, (dew-point 54, relative humidity 59%), with a NNW wind of 9mph.
